Yup, as the title says, the Apple Pen 2.0 is not compatible with the 12.9 version, so don’t put the pen inside the sot, or you would have to pry it open like I had to.I think the 12.9 version comes in 2 colors, black and blue. And based on the stock photos, the blue one is the only one that comes with the covered hole on the bottom where the Apple Pen is supposed to go. I got the blue one, so I was so excited to test that feature. Turned out that my Pen got stuck in there when I did so. I tried to push it further in, but it just got stuck even deeper. Freaked out, I got in contact with the Prime tech support, who ended up help me get in contact with the seller.I reached out to the seller about 2 issues actually—one, the “H” key was not very responsive (tapped multiple times but only 1 letter “H” would appear on screen), and two, my Pen got freaking stuck inside! The seller got back to me promptly within 24 hours asking for video proofs, and I sent them. They sent out a keyboard replacement right away but did not mention anything about my Pen. They also did not respond back to me when I sent out a specific follow-up email asking for advice on getting my Pen out. So I took the matter into my own hands, cut out, disassemble the defected keyboard, and eventually Got the Pen out. The whole ordeal was time consuming and not fun.My replacement came, and all the keys worked fine. I am using it to type this review actually. I tested the Pen slot again with my Pen (possibly a dumb move I know; I was just curious if the other one just happened to be an off). And guess what, the pen got stuck again lol. It was not as tightly stuck like with the other one, but I was not able to push it back out easily. I used a chopstick to push it in further, and after a couple of pushes, the springy mechanism inside finally was finally triggered and pushed the Pen back out. I tried putting it back in few more times and noticed that spring system was not very good. I would have to push my Pen in multiple times (with the chopstick), and unless it was in a “correct spot”, the Pen would stay stuck inside. Stopped trying after a while because I did not want to risk the Pen’s tip getting ruined if I went on.Previous reviews showed that the pen slot of the 10.2 worked fine, so I think it is the 12.9 version’s problem. Or it might be because I was using Apple Pen 2.0. I don’t have the 1.0 to check if it fits the slot better. Either way, don’t use the pen slot of the 12.9 if you don’t want to take the risk. The rest of the keyboard functioned like it was supposed to. The case overall is heavy, but that was expected. Customer services was fast and pleasant (except the part where they completely ignore my stuck pen problem), so I think 4 stars is a a fair rating. This is my second one, I fried the first one when I spilled a entire cup of coffee on it, but even then it stilled worked except for the O P 9 and 0 keys. Battery life is really long. It is heavy though, but I rarely travel with my iPad. Syncs up quickly.I use this to convert my iPad Pro into “laptop”. My iPad fits in the case nicely. I have a sleeve on my apply pencil so I like that the pencil charging portion of my iPad is exposed. I don’t have to take my iPad out the case to charge my pencil. The keyboard is a tad slow when typing but I type fast so it’s not that bad. I honestly was shocked at the quality as there were no reviews when I purchased. At first I was disappointed it did not come with a charger until I realized it used the same charger as the iPad. It’s super convenient to use the same charger on both. So I am really happy about that now. I have had this product 3-4 days and have only charged once. I forget the keyboard on and it hasn’t died yet. The turning of the screen is not really loose and does require effort to turn, so you won’t have to worry about it turning when you don’t want it to. I have seen reviews on similar cases for smaller iPad that if you close the case then hold it under your arm when carrying the screens will turn and make carrying difficult.(because of swiveling hinge) I see where this is possible but the hinge is pretty sturdy. I am gentle with my stuff and feel you would have to jerk a lot for this to happen. You can also simply not carry it this way to avoid accidents. I prefer to carry in backpack as there is nothing to hold pencil to case except magnetization and I feel more secure with my 1k tablet.... perspective ??♀️. Overall I feel this is a great buy and if I ever break it I would definitely buy this exact one again.I go to school online and travel for work so this is convenient for me. I recently switched to digital note taking. With that in mind this product is perfect. I need the laptop convenience with the tablets ability to have internet where I have cell signal. It is practically like having a laptop without the mouse.I would love to give this Keyboard 5 stars but since I have received the item I have lost Bluetooth connectivity 3 times. I am still hanging in there though and hopefully it is just a brand new keyboard niggle and it wont happen again. The 5 star points at the moment though are the Sturdiness of the case is great. Much MUCH better than an original Apple make. Also I have to give it 5 Stars for the Value for money. It is a fraction of the price of an official Apple product and I know that my IPAD Pro will be safe within the case. I just hope that the Bluetooth problem is just a little hiccup and it will work perfectly.UPDATE 31 JAN 2020I HAVE NOW USED THI KEYBOARD FOR A COUPLE OF MONTHS AND I CAN SAFETLY SAY THAT IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY. IT CONSTANTLY LOOSES BLUETOOTH CONNECTIVITY SO I HAVE TO CONSTANTLY CONNECT BACK UP WHICH IS DIFFICULT AS I HAVE TO SWITCH OFF THE IPAD AND CLEAR ALL KNOWLEDGE OF THE KEYBOARD. I HAVE FOUND THAT THE KEYBOARD WORKS BETTER WHEN THE IPAD ISNT CONNECTED INSIDE CASE. WEIRD. ONLY PLACE FOR THIS IS THE BIN. EVEN THOUGH ORIGINAL APPLE KEYBOARD CASE DOESNT GET VERY GOOD REVIEWS I AM SURE THE CONNECTIVATY IS SPOTLESSPros: nice and sturdy, iPad is held securely in place and feels much more like working on a laptop. It’s nice having a proper keyboard if you have a lot of typing to do. The backlit keyboard is useful when the light in the room isn’t so good, but the light can be turned off when not needed. I touch type, and find the alphabetical keys easy to use. It’s nice having a secure space for the apple pencil when it’s not in use.Cons: some of the keys feel oddly placed, such as the right hand shift key (I keep hitting page up) and the return key. The delete key is your backspace, so you can’t forward delete. When typing into messenger the return key sends the message, so if you want to do a new paragraph you need to switch to the on screen keyboard. The keyboard adds a lot of weight to your iPad if you’re carrying it around, but it probably needs to be heavy to counterweight that of the iPad. I do wish it had a mousepad. My thumbs automatically search for it before I remember it’s not there.I’ve only been using the keyboard for a day, so I’m sure I’ll get accustomed to its little quirks. It’s certainly easier to use than the on screen keyboard when you have a lot of written work to type up,Unsolicited review: this keyboard case is great value for money (I paid £44 for it — oh look, there's no pound symbol so you have to know the option+3 shortcut to get a £). The bright blue is eye-catching and stands out from the various other devices I have. The spring-loaded apple pencil storage is brilliant, but remember to let it go suddenly when releasing or you will have a fiddle time pulling the pen out by the lid. As other users have said, it is heavy, but the large iPad pro is too big and heavy to hold up or use on your lap like a small tablet anyway. There are some downsides I notice straight away. The keyboard is a little bit flexible in the middle, which makes it feel a bit cheap (but it is cheap!). Also, as with all bluetooth keyboards, the connection can take a couple of seconds so this is a definite drawback compared to the instantly connected, battery-free smart connector keyboards (currently only available from Apple and Logitech). The keys on the keyboard are more noisy than on the Logitech or Apple cases I tried, but it's a nice responsive clack which makes it easier to type. It's difficult to know how much charge is left in the keyboard, but if the stated 300 hours of operation is mostly true, that should rarely matter. The rotating screen hinge works really well — something you'd pay though the nose for in a laptop-cum-tablet device, and it makes for a sturdy laptop-style arrangement and a very usable tablet. This is a definite advantage over the Logitech case I tried where using it as a tablet felt a bit weird and lop-sided. The hinge does snap into place at every 90°. However, there is just ough play to mean that when you close it up with the ipad turned in, you might just miss the position for the ipad to know it has been shut. This should be immediately obvious from the screen glow and is easily corrected by lining up the top and bottom of the unit with fingers.I am very pleased with this case, and it drew cries of admiration from my wife and daughter who initially thought I'd bought a new laptop. I am considering keeping the logitech case for if I ever travel on business, but this is definitely my regular case for use at home by all of us except the toddler. It is a very well made piece of kit and I was forewarned (from other reviews) that it is somewhat heavy. However, the weight has advantages in that it is stable when viewing the screen in landscape mode and when using the keyboard. It also has an advantage if one reverses the screen using the base as support away from the body (difficult to explain!). It says that once connected via bluetooth it remains set. This is not always the case and one has to reset the connection periodically. The keyboard action is excellent. In summary, it is like owning a laptop but with the advantages of an iPad with touch screen facility in addition to using a keyboard. I have used many Snugg products in the past and this model is well up to their high standards. The delivery service was outstanding.
