Description
Iklip 3 deluxe is completely redesigned and Made from rugged thermoplastic, making it sturdier, lighter, and more portable than other tablet mounts. It features new, larger and more durable rubber grips that ensure it will stand up to years of abuse without wearing or loosening, and that won’t mar your device's finish. Its new design leaves all ports accessible with or without a case. A new and improved clip fits the widest range of tablets, with screen sizes from 7” to 12. 1”, with or without a case. And iKlip 3’s design keeps it “future-proof” as well, so as your devices change and improve, it will still fit! Iklip 3 deluxe offers two mounting options for up to 5 possible mounting setups - on the front, side or boom arm or top of a microphone stand, or onto any camera tripod/ monopod/ accessory with a 1/4"" Unc camera thread. You'll never stop finding uses for iKlip 3 deluxe, whether for music, presentations, Photography, video recording or in the studio. Once mounted, iKlip 3’s bracket locks in with just a few simple twists. Iklip 3 fits on any part of a mic stand, making installation and positioning a breeze. Devices can be positioned both horizontally and vertically on poles up to 1. 2” in diameter. Unlike top-mounting tablet mounts, iKlip 3 can position your device at the exact height you need, so you can count on setup to be quick and easy. Iklip 3 Also features a ball & socket joint for the widest range of positions in both landscape and portrait orientation. The mounting bracket rotates 360º to quickly accommodate any viewing angle within seconds, and keeps everything together in between gigs so there’s no pieces to lose. Plus a new Velcro slot instantly secures interfaces, cables or other accessories, keeping your setup neat and organized.

This product, for ALMOST $50, is absolutely not worth the money. It's a pain to adjust. But even worse- with my BRAND NEW 2021 iPad 10.2" it will not mount the iPad with the holders vertical and the iPad vertical- the iPad is too big. When I mount it with the iPad vertical and the holders horizontal- the iPad eventually slide out the bottom. The only way to mount it is with the iPad in horizontal orientation, and the iKlip holding on the top and bottom. But for my chord sheets, I don't like it that way. I'm using it tonight for the first time on a gig, and there turn period has already passed. All the pictures give the impression that you can mount the iPad vertically with the iKlip holding the sides. That's an absolute lie. They should really update the product description. I've literally thrown away $50, as this product is of no use to me. Great job on the advertising, IK Multimedia Store.UPDATE: Although this product did not work for me, IK Multimedia has been extremely responsive in trying to solve this issue. They are processing a refund. Excellent customer service!Without a case, it grips the iPad really well. Unfortunately, the "tabs" that keep the iPad in place are not wide enough for many cases. It's also pretty expensive for what it is.Does seem to be well made.Perfect solution for mounting iPad on music stand. Adjustable, secure and easy to install/remove iPad.I was so disappointed to discover this will not work with the Zugu case for iPad Pro 12.9". I do not want to take my iPad out of the case to use. I also received a defective product. The rubber grip was coming off the mount as well as some of the pieces being a bit warped. It was difficult to assemble because of this. The package had obviously been opened. Although the product may be wonderful when not defective, it still will not fit with my case. It's simple and easy to attach and holds my IPAD.Unlike some of the other reviews, the ball joint seems fine. I have the same rig for an iPhone that I've had for years. The plastic does deform a bit over time and you have to crank it a bit, but it never stopped working. On this product I can see that after cranking it down there is a still some room left for the ball holder to tighten more, so even if the same thing happens I don't anticipate a problem.Likewise I didn't have any problem with my iPad 12.9 fitting in the jaws (maybe they were trying to fit it into the jaws along the long axis? No way that would work.) No case, but seems like there is plenty enough room if I did have it in a case. The biggest weakness I found is the back part of the ball joint receiver where the adjustment is: it's in two pieces (unlike the iPhone version) and there is a lot more flexion where they join than I would like. So if you tap the part of the iPad that is furthest from the jaws you notice it a bit. The jaws themselves seem to be tight enough that there is no problem with movement. I have some concerns about this if I ever have to use it in a live music situation (assuming live music exists in the future.) Just seems like an easily-avoided design mistake. For musicians like me, the stand you are using is likely be the biggest source of movement. As far as the price goes, yeah, I'd call it a bit pricey for an all-plastic item. It's Italian, so like Apple, most of the budget went into design, right? ;-) OTOH, the only versions of this type of product I've seen that look really sturdy are photo/video specialty gear and are way more expensive.Overall it's a good design and I'm not sending it back. But I have a few issues with this product.Pros:-The mic stand clamp fits on most thicknesses of mic stands. Some of the larger sound companies opt for big, thick heavy stands. This fits on those as well as the small stands most of us use.-The ball and socket design works well for most ipads. The larger pads, however, don't work as well, as the ball joint is not strong enough. I might suggest you could make additional money with a "Heavy Duty" version. Or, just be cool and make this one beefier for the same price.Cons:-Expensive. I get that there was some design work that went into getting this to the state it is right now, but it's a pretty expensive piece of plastic. I think the value for the money is slightly off in favor of the company not the consumer.-There is a design challenge in my opinion as a musician who has played hundreds if not thousands of gigs with one of these. As I said before, the ball and socket is a good idea. But in order to break down the tablet mount into two bite-sized transportable pieces, you have to remove the tablet clamp with the ball from the stand clamp which is the socket (see picture). The socket is comprised of 2 pieces - one half is part of the mic stand clamp, and the other half is a small piece that comes free when you separate the tablet clamp from the mic clamp. This piece is important as it makes one half of the socket. To make this clear YOU CAN'T AFFORD TO LOSE THIS PIECE! Also it's a light piece of plastic that happens to be black. So odds are, if you drop this small piece of plastic during tear down or (worse yet) set up, you are as the industry term suggests...SCREWED. It seems to me like this could be fixed with a hinge at the base of the small piece or just adding a few threads so that you don't have to unscrew it all the way down to get the ball out.Hope this helps. I don't think it's a bad product. Just has some room for improvement.I had bought a number of iPad mounts to see which was the sturdiest, easiest to set up and useful. I found of all the ones I bought. I re-bought this one again l, as it was the best in my opinion. A lot of cheaper brands & models just would not work correctly and their or hold the wait well when trying to lock it into position. It was also the least fiinighy to attach a tablet to.After investing £1400+ on an iPad Pro I felt really nervous using this. The adjustment is weak and doesn't take the weight of an iPad pro. The arm is not long enough to use at the side of a mic stand in 'portrait' position. I tried to work with IK Multimedia who were pretty hopeless as they knew I was right and they unit was NOT fully compatible.False description. Contrary to the sales pitch it will NOT take a 12.9 iPad with case. Looks sturdy enough as a piece of kit but of no use to me as it will not work for my iPad Pro and Targus case. Very frustrating given price and description.I’ve tried a few iPad mounts and this is by far the sturdiest I’ve owned. It’s easy to assemble and my iPad doesn’t move an inch once it’s in the mount. I even had a drunk person come on stage and knock my mic stand into my mouth (ouch!) and the iPad stayed firmly in place. This holder will not take a Samsung A7 length-ways. It only extends to 9.5" and I need 10.1". Width-wise, it is too wide, at its narrowest setting, to take the tablet width-ways. Buyer beware.
